Fraxinea is passionate about innovating and providing sustainable alternatives with the help of Nature. We work on creating a sustainable future by harnessing the power of mushrooms, to create new materials. During our R&D process we developed a new growing technique that allows us to grow materials by the meter, in large quantities. We were also looking for a way to introduce the possibilities mushrooms are capable of to everybody. This is how we came to the idea of the SymbioMat.
SymbioMat is a 100% natural, plant fibre and fungi based alternative to PVC sports mats. With it, we offer a fully biodegradable solution that can be returned to nature at the end of its lifespan, creating a fully circular, environmentally conscious product. The unique structure of our mushroom material allows the mat to be extremely soft, yet stable enough for a variety of yoga poses. The natural texture provides perfect grip, which helps prevent slipping during exercise, allowing for safer and more comfortable practices. Mushroom tissue has naturally antibacterial properties, so SymbioMat™ is easy to keep clean, stays fresh for longer and does not require the use of aggressive cleaning agents. This is particularly beneficial for those who are allergic or sensitive to certain chemicals.
