Naturing_Matter in motion Intersections between the nature and design

Contemporary art and design seeks to erase boundaries, and by exploring the intersections of nature and man-made environments, new cross-disciplinary solutions emerge. Textile, rooted in interaction, exemplifies this with its materials—yarn, structure, and texture—undergoing constant transformation. By investigating processes at the nano, micro, and macro levels, we can uncover connections with nature’s systems, like plants, which can serve as co-creators. My project uses living plant material (wheatgrass) grown in templates to form textiles, exploring the potential for plant-based, biodegradable fabrics. The research focuses on the symbiotic relationship between material and form, aiming to develop sustainable textiles without the need for traditional production lines, presenting a new paradigm for textile creation.
