Sustastic Effect
Sustastic Effect yarns aim to provide a biobased solution instead of petroleum-based effect yarns for small textile designers. The project plans to be open-source, calling for designers to take action, a step towards circular design by creating their own material. The alginate based biopolymer yarns are made, colored and sparked with effects which are natural and sustainable. The project is ongoing, focusing on the developement of increased durability such as water-repellancy and UV-resistancy.
