3D Printed Earth Dome by Ökodome Team
This ceramic 3D-printed model was printed with the WASP Clay 40100 and represents our full-sized earth dome sauna. It used the same G-code as the life-sized structure, scaled down for display. Our vision blends ancient knowledge with advanced technology to pioneer a truly sustainable housing solution—one that’s not only cheaper, faster, and eco-friendly but also requires no external energy input over its lifetime.
Imagine a true passive house: no plastics, no excessive energy or material waste, no need for complex machinery to maintain a livable interior. Instead, this dome relies on local subsoil to deliver remarkable thermal performance. It harnesses solar energy and the earth's natural thermal inertia, aided by an air-earth heat exchanger using nature’s resources.
