SYLIA mycofabrications
SYLIA was established in 2024 with its roots in mycelium research and material prototyping which has since expanded into an experiential studio design lab. SYLIA has been collaborating with artists, researchers, and companies; conceptualizing and producing materials and objects made out of mycelium.
- MYCOKITS -
SYLIA designs Mycokits that combine production tools with digital content to teach the fundamentals of mushroom cultivation and mycelium-based fabrication. The kits combine design, tech and biology. The kits integrate VR tutorials, XR interactive content, and high-quality curated booklets enhanced with Augmented Reality (AR).
- MYCOSKIN -
SYLIA manufactures Mycoskin - a leather alternative made of mycelium. Our product has a variety of applications from fashion to product, from interior to automotive, and it is completely biodegradable.
- MYCOTETRIS -
SYLIA Mycotetris is an educational project that aims to engage people from multidisciplinary fields - designers, architects, biologists, curators, etc. - in fabricating collaboratively with fungi through the classic Tetris game.
